At Prison Directory, published by VORTICEPACIFICO ENGENHARIA LDA (NIF/NIPC PT518972895, Viana do Castelo, Portugal (European Union)), we process personal data with the minimum necessary and in accordance with applicable law, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Portuguese Law no. 58/2019. This website requires no registration, account or payment.

2. Data published in the directory
The directory publishes institutional information about establishments (name, type, responsible authority, address and public contact details of the facility). We do not publish personal data of inmates, victims, staff or private individuals, and we do not maintain people-search tools. If you find personal data in a profile that should not be there, tell us at legal@vorticepacifico.com and we will remove it as a priority.
3. Data we collect from visitors
- Technical server logs: IP address (truncated or anonymised where possible), browser and operating system, requested page, response code, date and time, and referring page. They are necessary for the operation and security of the website.
- Voluntary communications: if you write to info@vorticepacifico.com or legal@vorticepacifico.com, we process your email address and the content of your message solely to handle your enquiry or correction request.
The site search runs in your browser on a public index: what you type into it is not sent to our servers.
4. Legal bases (Art. 6 GDPR)
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): ensuring website security, preventing abuse and automated attacks, and offering accessible public information.

- Complaint to the supervisory authority: in Portugal, the National Data Protection Commission (CNPD, www.cnpd.pt), or that of your country of residence.
If you live in California (CCPA/CPRA), the United Kingdom (UK GDPR), Brazil (LGPD) or other jurisdictions with equivalent rights, you can exercise them the same way. We do not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising without your consent.
